Here is every number we charge, and an honest comparison against the monthly-fee studios — including the bit where a subscription is cheaper than us for the first couple of months.

Owning one doesn't.
Most UK website companies charge a monthly fee. The cheapest we've found is around £20 a month with hosting included; £30 is closer to typical, and £30 is what the bars below use. Either way, it's fine until you add it up.
Over 5 years you keep
£1,331— and at the end of it, the website is still yours.
Honest version: our hosting is counted in, because theirs is too. If you host the site yourself it comes out cheaper still. The bars use £30 a month. A subscription still works out cheaper than us for roughly the first 2 months — or the first 4 if you find one at the £20 quoted above. After that it never catches up, and if you ever stop paying, you're left with nothing to show for it.

If you'd rather not deal with it, we'll host the site for you. Already have a provider? That's completely fine — the files are yours either way.
